ETO sterilizers are primarily used to sterilize medical, surgical, and pharmaceutical products, as well as food and spice products, maize starch products, and other items that cannot be sterilized using high-temperature steam, such as devices with electronic components, plastic packaging, or plastic containers. Typically, ETO sterilization is combined with diluents such as carbon dioxide in various concentrations ranging from 10% to 90% ETO. In sterilizers, the gas concentration is typically 450 to 1000 mg/lit of chamber capacity (measured as pure ETO).
